Riley Porterfield

Riley Porterfield grew up watching his parents serve with dedication in Youth Ministry and felt the call from the Lord to follow in their footsteps and become a youth pastor at the age of 13, while at summer youth camp. He graduated from the 3Eleven School of Ministry in 2012 and accepted a pastoral position in Norman, Oklahoma. On August 23, 2013, Riley married his college sweetheart, Taylor, and they made family life their focal point as they went on to have four children in five years. Taylor thrives as a homemaker and home educator to their children, while Riley spends his days working as an electrician. Together, they are passionate about intentionality with their marriage and children, intimacy with the Lord, and helping others see the reality of Jesus Christ and their identity in Him.

Riley and Taylor came to The Place in 2019 and immediately felt it should be their church home. In 2022, Riley accepted the position of Youth Pastor at The Place. His vision and passion for the youth group is based off of 1 Corinthians 3:11. “For no one can lay a foundation other than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ.” His goal is to help lay the foundation in student’s lives for a lifetime of walking in Christ.

Tim and Barbara have been married since August 1, 2005 and have a passion to reach and disciple others.  Tim graduated from Central Bible College in 1980 and served as an associate pastor in Massachusetts. Tim's path led him into the business world and eventually to start an Internet Access Company. The passion and purpose behind that company was "to have a company that would testify to God's Goodness and Provision and to be a light for Him in the business community.

Tim's passion is to teach and see the sheep mature into their own gifting and ministry through one-on-one discipleship. To that end, Tim teaches the Sunday morning discipleship class and mentors others in meetings during the week.  His Life Mission Statement is "To know Jesus and help others come to know Him!"

Barbara teaches at a local Christian School and has a passion to see broken lives transformed by the gospel of Jesus Christ.  She has a special place in her heart for those battling and overcoming addictions as she personally reaches out to provide support for those individuals.  The Place Church is blessed by this great TEAM.
